Sunday Afternoon Message

Today the Sunday Lesson was finishing the Sermon On The Mount.
This was one of my very favorite parts of our trip to Israel.  I love being where the Saviors delivered this wonderful message and Dr. Lund gave an excellent talk on how the Savior delivered a step by step plan on following the Saviors plan for us.  Today's scriptures were in Matthew 6 and I want to share my favorite ones.

It is in Matthew 6: 19-21

19.  Lay not up for yourselves treasure upon the earth , where moth and rust doth corrupt , and where thieves break through and steal:

20.  But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal.

21.  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

What are the things we treasure........the things we invest our time, money and thoughts into.  Are they things that we bring us closer to Heavenly Father or farther away.  Do they strengthen our families our personal testimony .

In Relief Society we talked about how our trials can strengthen us.  My favorite scripture that they shared was from D& C was

D&C 68:6

Wherefore be of good cheer and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the son of the living God, that I was, that I am and that i am to come.

This is Heavenly Father's promise to us as we experience those trials that come to of us.

Last but not least three babes were blessed today.  It was so amazing watching these three young fathers come forward and offer amazing blessings using the Priesthood Power.  That great love they had for their children was poured out for their spites.  I am grateful to be our Heavenly Families children and know that he loves us just as these fathers loved their babies and that everyday he pours out blessings upon.  I am grateful  that he is always mindful and watchful over his children and continues to pour those blessings out  upon us.

A great Sunday to carry us through the week . Until we meet again next Sunday
